Warrior Fishing with Ally

Have you ever been fishing with a chunk of wood when there is no fish? Well if you haven’t, you should try, it’s so much fun…
It was a sunny afternoon in Lemarti’s camp so we decided to go fishing in the river. When we arrived we were given a chunk of wood with a string and some corn on a hook. So it’s different, but sounds fun, right! WRONG! It was extremely hard to cast and the fish didn’t seem to like corn.
My dad was trying to find a good place to fish, so he stepped on the waters edge hoping to get to a nearby rock. As soon as he placed one foot on the dirt. Slippery mud appeared under the dirt and he fell down on his butt.
Later Lemarti was trying to get to a rock too. He fell straight into the water, but ended up on the rock. We fished for a little while, but it was just plain boring. So we decided to go in the mud… just cause it felt good on our feet.
Then we thought so what if we muddy! We can just go shower! So little by little we started to get muddier. Soon we’d made a little slide. Then Lemarti jumped in too! Soon all the Maasai warriors, my sister, my dad and me were challenging each other to mud fights, seeing if we could stand up the whole way down the slide (which I could do) and getting muddy!
The next day we shoveled all the sand away from a slanting rock that went all the way into water. Then we poured water and silt on the rock to make it slippery. It hurt, but it was so worth it!
Most kid’s favorite sport is soccer, football, tennis, and baseball. But my favorite sport is Maasai Warrior Fishing.
